Syra Health in collaboration with Indiana State Epidemiology Outcomes Workgroup publishes a new report on Regional Trends of Alcohol Use and Consequences in Indiana!
Alcohol is one of the world’s most abused substances, and it can play a role in some of the leading causes of death in the United States. Alcohol consumption has steadily increased over the last few decades. In Indiana alone, there are 3.8 alcohol-related deaths for every 10,000 adults. Alcohol abuse has significant economic, social, and mental consequences, and these consequences must be outlined and documented to understand the full scope of the problem today. The Indiana State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup (SEOW), the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA), and Syra Health are committed to outlining the consequences of alcohol abuse and bringing transparency to the burden alcohol abuse has on the state.
